The “Living in the Blue” project is located in the Lambrate district of Milan. The intervention consists of the redevelopment and recovery of the area for commercial and residential functions. The park covers a very large surface area and serves as a connecting element between the various buildings. Grolla marble clads the central paving with running format, the pillars, and various furnishing elements (benches and planters). The chosen finish is sandblasted, ideal for the contemporary style of the structure and in harmony with the blue diamond-patterned ceramics of the facades. This finish enhances the beauty of the veining, is non-slip, and easy to clean. The project designed by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia is on the shortlist for The Plan Awards 2020 in the “Housing” category.
